              and presented colors to open the Navy Birthday Ball, Oct 25, 2008

The Honorable Donald Winter, right, flank the Varina High School NJROTC Color Guard Group from Richmond, VA, at the 2008 Navy Birthday Ball on October 25 at the Mark Hilton Hotel in Alexandria. The Northern Virginia Council of the Navy League again sponsored a table at the Birthday Ball for the NJROTC team that took first place in a regional color guard competition.   The NJROTC Group presented colors to open ceremonies at the Birthday Ball.  A different team from Varina High School took top honors last year.
